Product Overview

wSwitch is an advanced wireless access controller designed to effectively manage a decentralized mesh network of CellNode™ access points. The product provides centralized management and provisioning of all access points in such network while optimizing bandwidth and maximizing network availability. Users of wSwitch enabled networks enjoy maximum flexibility and mobility as their individual sessions can be transferred transparently from access point to access point (roaming) without change in connection quality. Network management and upgrades are as easy as selecting clicking a button as wSwitch does all the rest via automated access points provisioning and upgrades. Last but not least, wSwitch offers advanced client location services, enabling service providers to track the location of each user within their networks and use such information for providing more customized services.

Dynamic Authentication for Telephony and Data Sessions

SysMaster wSwitch supports dynamic telephony and data session authentication utilizing MD5 encryption and dynamic firewall rules. The server allows subscribers to authenticate via PIN and/or Username/Password. Every session is dynamically controlled and can be disconnected at any time. The system supports subscriber banning and time-based session termination for both telephony and data sessions.

Automated Provisioning of Distributed Wireless/WiFi CellNode™ APs

SysMaster wSwitch supports automated provisioning and management of CellNode™ access points with no limit on the number of managed devices. The product can scan for device health status, provision wireless and authentication parameters, provide traffic monitoring services, and upgrade firmware if necessary. wSwitch also accepts dynamic information for newly detected local or foreign clients and track this information for customer traffic management and geographical location purposes.

Traffic and Bandwidth Optimization with Dynamic Firewall and QoS Services

SysMaster wSwitch provides bandwidth optimization and traffic management services to allow high CellNode™ throughput. The product manages system and CellNodes™ throughput via dynamic firewall QoS filters. For example, wSwitch will reduce the number of unnecessary broadcasts and intersystem data exchanges and enforce QoS and traffic shaping rules to every individual subscriber.

Client Session Management with Access Controller

SysMaster wSwitch supports client session management with its embedded Access Controller where every session is individually tracked, logged, and managed. The product also supports session disconnect based on traffic and time. wSwitch supports SIP protocol and features SIP proxy based control for all telephony services. It tracks data (ISP) sessions utilizing dynamic firewall rules where a firewall rule is applied and removed every time a new session is initialized.

Client DHCP and Name Services

SysMaster wSwitch supports DHCP and Name services for easy integration with LAN and WAN client environments. All clients are assigned private IP addresses that are used for all authentication and roaming purposes. Once the private IP address is assigned to a client it is preserved throughout the duration of the full session. The system has built-in protection against spoofing and IP replication attacks.

Dynamic Session Roaming

SysMaster wSwitch supports client session roaming services throughout the CellNote™ infrastructure. Once registered and authenticated, a client can access freely the network and transfer its session from one CellNode™ to another without packet drops or the need to re-establish its session in UDP or TCP mode.

Client Session, Traffic, and System Monitoring

SysMaster wSwitch offers advanced tools for client session, traffic, and system monitoring. At any point of time platform managers can check the client status and current network usage. The function allows client filtering, prevention of DoS and Flood attacks, and detection of CellNode™ over-utilization.

Client Location and Triangulation Services

SysMaster wSwitch includes client locator service for geographical triangulation and location of mobile clients. The service allows real-time identification of the approximate location of each wireless client that is within the reach of at least 3 CellNodes™.

Client Billing and Account Management Services

SysMaster wSwitch works in conjunction with the VoiceMaster Billing Platform to support VoIP, ISP, and Content billing services. wSwitch submits all subscriber information to the billing system for session based billing and session parameter management.
